One of the loveliest and best private dining experiences ever! The specially curated tasting menu was so well-thought of and it was one of those rare meals where every dish from the start to the end was so good. There were also many small and fine details like the china glassware and utensils throughout the meal. The overall atmosphere was cosy and relaxing, and the service flow was also well-paced which enabled us to enjoy each course. If you are looking for a private dining experience for your special occasion, I will strongly recommend for you to come and try it out with your family and friends! Intricately crafted in their home, it showcased a rather unique cuisine with sophisticated cooking techniques blended with delightful hints of Japanese ingredients. Hwe & Gerald’s personalized service added an extra layer of warmth to the exquisite culinary journey. Limited to a maximum of 7 diners at a time, this is highly recommended for those seeking a unique and intimate dining affair.

This place is the real deal! Hwe & Gerald have amassed a myriad of experience working in fine dining (Michelin) restaurants around the world - from Australia to Copenhagen and to Kyoto, and they now amalgamate these experiences in their delightful home dining. Each dish was incredibly creative - fusing European flavours with familiar Asiatic ones, using very unique and fresh ingredients. We were very impressed by how each dish was something new, yet not overly experimental - it still evoked comfort and familiarity! The location is also super unique, in the first floor of a flat in TBR. This is really an experience unlike any other. Hwe & Gerald were also incredible hosts and patiently explained each dish. It was also amazing to hear their life stories and experiences. Highly recommended!

Dinner overall was amazing and vibes were very chill. Beautiful looking food that tasted great! As we did not know the menu in advance, every course was a surprise and kept us looking forward to the next. Hwe & Gerald were both friendly and talented chefs that made the experience even better. Through the introduction of each dish, you get to learn more about the ingredients and cooking style before being hit by the flavours of the dishes. It was a multi-course meal where the savoury and the sweet dishes were well-balanced. Highly recommended for celebrations, to catch up with friends or even for a romantic date out. My second time here. After trying out different private dining, this is probably one of the best. A lot of love and creativity put into every dish, not to mention the dessert.

Everything was amazing. It was a tasting course and nothing disappointed. First step into the place, it was so beautifully decorated and the ambience was TOP TIER. First course in, I was already thinking who to bring the next time we have an occasion (or I may not even need an occasion) 🤪 All in all I’m glad that this place was my first private dining experience, and they have set the bar really high.

It was my first time attending a private dinner though I have watched on TV before and wondered what it was like. I am glad my friend invited me. I must say I enjoyed myself thoroughly as I have never seen such a long list of menu with so much preparation for us to experience. The environment was cozy and relaxed. Hosts and fellow diners were friendly and engaging in conversations to provide a lovely evening.

Absolutely amazing dining experience with Hwe & Gerald! I first came to know Hwe during her pop-up at Bar Stories and my husband was so addicted to her & JT’s food that we came back again when the menu changed. It’s our third time having Hwe’s cooking and it always somehow exceeds my expectations. We attended the Mothers’ Day pop-up experience and every dish was so good. Presentation of the dishes were exceptional too. 10/10 would recommend this fine dining experience; am intending to come back with my family again for the full dining experience!

To say our experiences here have been absolutely divine is an understatement. This is a place you come to and then can't stop talking about for weeks... until you are lucky enough to return and be completely amazed all over again.

Reserved the place for a friend’s birthday dinner and we were not only impressed by the food (they were very thoughtful to ask for our preferences and customised the dishes accordingly) but also their hospitality. We enjoyed ourselves very much and would strongly recommend this place if you’re looking for a private setting for celebrations.

We experienced wonderful hospitality, set in a beautiful, cosy space. Inspiration from their experiences in world-renowned restaurants was on full display, with a masterful, yet unforced blend of ingredients and techniques from various cuisines. Not forgetting the grand finale, "Petit Fours", or should I say "Petit Tens", where Hwe's skills as a patissier was in full flight and was a treat for all senses. We will definitely be back!

The private dining scene is flourishing in Singapore and the hidden talents of Singaporean chefs are gradually being exposed, making the culinary scene here an exciting one to watch out for. The dishes prepared here are visually exquisite, well-matched by the beautiful crockery they are presented in. The taste is well-balanced and refined, yet, it didn’t feel pretentious! Kudos to the chefs who thought through details like this.

We were really looking forward to this dinner and Hwe & Gerald knocked it out of the park! From the space and the hospitality, to the simple but technique-driven food. You can tell that there is a lot of passion and care with what they are doing. Can’t wait to be back.

The food was amazing, and every dish was well-thought out and classily executed! My favourite has got to be the iberico pork, but I’d say every single dish hits the spot. The dining experience was made even more special with a curated playlist by the chefs themselves, complete with the cozy ambience of their home. Great place for a date night or friends’ gathering!

A superb sunday luncheon brimful of "mmmm" intonations in varying degrees; from start to end of the meal. Definitely one of the better/ best private dining experience (in Singapore) thus far. Beautiful cosy abode with creative decor and layout, food quality/ preparation/ presentation, affable chef-couple interacting and sharing their thoughts and ideals etc. Grateful to have a flourishing scene of young chefs doing what they love, showcasing their creativity and experiences on the plates with such finesse... and feeding the end consumers (ahem!) with their interpretation of scrumptious satiety. I was here for the "a retrospective time in gion" menu and was wowed by the entire experience. Seeing a glimpse of the efforts that went into each dish, and tasting it all showed the heart that the chefs have in their craft. If you’ve never had a chance to make an involuntary audible mmm or wow sound, this is the place to go to. The atmosphere and vibes of the place, the music and lighting - all of these were carefully curated to enhance and perfect the short 2-3 hours spent there. 10/10 would go back again.

While there’s an ever increasing number of private chefs making their mark locally, this lovely couple still manages to make theirs a standout dining experience. Interesting dishes, good conversations, in a nice homely and cool location. P.S. we really can’t forget the OTT amount of desserts! The most number of desserts we’ve had at a private dining event, and more than most fine dining restaurants - with decent quality to boot.
